Being a Freelance Web Designer in London
So many people ask me ‘why did you decided to base yourself as a Freelance Web Designer in London?’
The answer to this question is not easy, but is perhaps easiest answered by saying that I actually split my time between the North of England, London and Europe.
So why focus on London, well, I am mainly based in London and…I like a challenge, simple really to be honest.
I am also blessed (cursed some say) with one of those buttons that switches on when someone says ‘that is not possible’ or too difficult.
So in a few weeks of hard work and quality SEO (of page, on page, totally white hat), I have managed to get from total (expected) initial obscurity in the search for ‘freelance web designer in London’ to page 3 (in 12 weeks).
And I am on page 8 for Freelance Web Designer, not bad when you consider that there are thousands of us trying to get results for that lucrative term, the challenge however will continue as I aim for the highest spot I can reasonably obtain, given I am busy helping others too!
Benefits of being in London:
The real benefit of being based largely in London is that London is a global city of 10 + million people and thousands of businesses on the doorstep, all looking to out do the other competition, that healthy competition means that many people take a look at my work and say, I want that quality not the lesser offering I see from other freelancers, and I want a guy who can help in more ways than just web design.
So why not look to be part of a huge marketplace if you have the ability to shine above the rest and be seen and found via search and work of mouth.
Makes total sense to me and I look forward to serving more and more client in and around the London area and of course my further afield clients including many in Europe and America.
